A Warm Welcome to Pompano Beach

A city becomes a community when local restaurants & bars start popping up, when the streets are colored with signs for downtown festivals and there’s promotion of live music everywhere on the weekends.

There has been a lot of buzz over the years with Pompano Beach, a bustling beach community just north of Ft Lauderdale. With investment in its infrastructure and the surrounding beach neighborhoods, there is a wide range of things to do, places to eat, and tiki bars to drink.

I’ve been lucky to experience a good bit of the locations listed below. Whether you’re planning a sunny & warm getaway to Ft Lauderdale area, or just wanting to explore a new area in South Florida, here’s what a fun weekend in Pompano Beach could look like:

Friday:

  • Happy hour at Bite Eatery

  • Live music and drinks at Pier One Rooftop

Saturday:

  • Beach walk, breakfast at Lucky Fish Tiki Bar

  • Relax, then head to Living Green to grab a smoothie and to-go sandwiches for the day

  • Have some late afternoon apps and margaritas at Baresco

  • Change, get ready for a sunset dinner at Rusty Hook Tavern

  • Enjoy late night beach views at Beach House Pompano on their 2nd floor

Sunday:

  • Yoga on the beach (or check out a fitness studio nearby, The Strength District just opened and they have yoga, barre or pilates classes to try!)

  • Brunch at the Foundry

  • Taste some local craft beers at 26 Degrees Brewing

  • Watch football at Legends Tavern & Grille
