All-inclusive in the Bahamas

The second stage of a vacation is being present, where you try to make the most out of your day and have time to eat an actual breakfast.

This trip to the Bahamas checked all of the boxes we wanted. From the arrival to the resort, all the way to when we had to change out of our wet bathing suits in the lobby, (because we got way into a pool volleyball game) to being almost late to our shuttle taking us back home, we truly enjoyed every minute.

This is more like an itinerary so you can easily follow along what we did and recreate it for your own summer vacay!

Don’t forget - the best part of a vacation is having nothing to do and all day to do it. Here’s our ‘flex’ schedule for a 4-day, 3-night stay at the Sandals Royal Bahamian.

Day 1: TGIF

We traveled commercially (yes we are working millennials and can’t afford a charter…yet) and got to Nassau by the early afternoon. We were greeted by Rum Runners, and jumped in the pool as soon as we could. Once checked in, we got dressed up for our first night all together.

I always like to start off the first day of vacation with a nice dinner that has all the ambiance. We picked the French restaurant on property - ‘La Plume’ and enjoyed a delicious dîner.

Dinner then turned into a late night….the Sandals property doesn’t have a casino but while you’re on the main island of Nassau - you have to go check out the Baha Mar. It was one of the nicest casinos I’ve seen outside of The Bellagio in Vegas.

Day 2: Saturday shorelines & tan lines

So the BEST part of this Sandals is the private island available to the guests only. We all met for breakfast on the property and then immediately went to the tiki bar to order frozen drinks to bring with us on the ferry to the island.

We grabbed a private tiki hut on the island and spent several hours in the crystal clear waters of the Bahamas. We also ventured around the property and were amazed at the quality of the outdoor furniture. We assumed that with the recent renovation, the designers hired knew what they were doing.

It was all Serena & Lily furniture - serious goals for my dream tropical backyard!

Day 3: Sunday Funday repeat

We had so much fun on the island on Saturday, we decided to do it all again on Sunday. Because why not? You’re on vacation, don’t let anyone tell you what to do!

This time, I skipped out on the early morning frozen drinks and hydrated instead. Played a little tennis (the grounds were so beautiful!) and remembered to bring my kindle with me to read a bit while staring into a tropical abyss.

We ended this day at the steakhouse on property - Butch’s Island Chophouse. It was lovely but they couldn’t seat us all at the same table (I guess they are used to more ‘party of 2’ not ‘party of 8’). After dinner, we danced the night away on the beach where there was live Bahamian music and good vibes.

Day 4: Monday reality check

If you’re at an all-inclusive, then you know ordering a room service is a MUST. We didn’t order it until the last morning…waking up with hot coffee and fresh croissants with an oceanfront view is my actual heaven so not sure why we waited so long.

The flights we all booked were later in day so we could capitalize on another day of sunshine. (Although our sunburns didn’t agree with that). We somehow got swept into a pool volleyball tournament that Sandals does as part of ‘adult activities’ and got very into it.

We proceeded to order 8 pies of pizza to-go before getting on the shuttle to the airport (had to) and then made it home safely and on time! The group text didn’t stop though, we can’t wait to plan our next tropical trip together. Maybe the Virgin Islands…

Have A Soleil Day!
